Lyne F.C going forward and looking for new talent.

With the 2009/10 season coming to a close, Lyne F.C are already planning for next year with the intension to improve further the service we give to the membership, become even more progressive on the training ground, and of course become even more successful  on the pitch.csclubs.jpg

This season has been outstanding for Lyne F.C with the Club achieving F.A Charter Standard, teams being entered into the Surrey Youth League for the first time, a team being entered into the East Berks League on a Saturday and of course teams in the Surrey Primary League where it all started.

imagescak5o1p7.jpgAdded to the above we have agreed an affiliation with Hampton and Richmond Borough F.C which are members of The Blue Square Conference and Suburban Premier League. This affiliation will give the opportunity for members of Lyne F.C to progress to the highest levels of football locally and also give every member free admission to all Hampton and Richmond Borough matches accompanied by a paying adult.

Another great addition to the opportunities Lyne F.C offers to its members at the age of 15 plus is Knaphill F.C with whom we have recently forged a link to give those members that are not quite ready for Blue square or Suburban an option of youth football in the Allied Counties Youth League.

knaphill.jpgKnaphill F.C have just created a new youth structure for the coming season (2010/2011)and Lyne F.C are pleased to endorse their ideas and progressive vision for young players to reach the highest levels of football to which abilities allow.

Equally at Knaphill F.C have senior opportunities in the Combine Counties League at reserves and 1st team levels .

So as you can see by Lyne F.C forging affiliations and links with the right sort of progressive clubs with the right people involved, Lyne F.C members have fantastic opportunities to achieve and develop to a level of senior football which befits their ability levels.

Lyne F.C will also continue to ensure that all our financial income goes back to our members and football. The clubs recognises that our members need good pitches to play and train on, good coaching and good equipment, but the most important thing which doesn’t cost any money is a great environment to progress, enjoy and play football in.lyne f.c badge.png

With our coaches totally committed to the development of our members, the whole Club will continue to train throughout the summer months with an aim to being even more successful in the up and coming season.

The books are now open to new members at all age groups, so if you are interested in joining a  local club, that has both eyes open with one focused on enjoyment and the other focused on progression.

Lyne Elite go double Dutch in Holland PDF Print E-mail

Lyne FC go double Dutch in Holland  The Lyne FC Elite team, U15’s, travelled to the outskirts of Amsterdam, to take part in two football tournaments over the Easter period, The 1st being on Saturday, which was hosted by S.V. Huizen. The format of this tournament was a straight league basis with the top team after all the matches being crowned the winners.

The Elite teams opening game was against the hosts, SV Huizen.

team_huizen_1_625x480.jpg The Elite teams didn’t settle well in this match but still dominated the play, but this was of no surprise as Lyne are notorious as starting slow in tournament football and today was of no exception. The final score in the opening match ended a 0-0 draw and the Elite need to buck their ideas up if they wanted to progress in this tournament. The 2nd match was against Victoria. After receiving  what you could call ‘ a strong team talk’ from the manager, the team responded  in typical Elite fashion, returning a 7-0 win and goals from Ollie B, AJ, x2 Tom Short, Ben  and x2 from Nick B. Our third encounter of the day  was Baarn, and once again the Elite’s were on top form, coming out victorious 4-0, goals from Tom Short, Ish and x2 Ben. Last game of the day, and a must win for the Elite team, if they wished to be crowned Champions of Huizen, against NVC. The boys were very positive but no one could have predicated this one. With the Elite winning 10-0, and goal from Jack, Ben x2, Ish, Cal, Ollie Q, AJ, Nick x2 and Ollie B. This clenched the Huizen tournament for the Elite team and the presentation being done on the main pitch of the 1st team.  This proved to be a fantastic day for the whole team and a booster for all that travelled to Holland, after a very slow start we could not have asked for a stronger finish, which was get preparation for the Sunday tournament at Buiten. The boys were up very early for this one, as Buiten was an ‘all day’ tournament, in the same format as Huizen. League winners take all. True to fashion, Lyne Elite went out against the host team Buiten in the 1st match and could only manage a 0-0 draw (No Surprise there then). Our 2nd opponents was AFC Quick 1890, Lyne found their found once again, coming out solid winners 3-0 and goals from Ish, Ben & Nick B. Our game was against Ommoord from Rotherdam. This was going to prove one of our toughest encounters, with Ommoord being a very physical and very aggressive (you know what sort of team!). The lads kept great discipline and took them apart coming out triumphant 2-0, after the full time whistle, with Nick B scoring twice. Our second from last encounter, was SV Weesp. A young outfit, but also fairly competitive. Lyne knew we had to put in a ‘big’ performance against these lads as goal difference   would play a part in our final league position. The Elite team did not disappoint winning the game 8-0 with goals from Ben, Edge, Tom S, Ollie B x2, AJ x3. Despite trying to claim the crown in our 4th match, it wasn’t to be, as the host team, Buiten, were neck and neck with us and only a win against their 2nd team would do, in the last match. Lyne started the brighter, taking the game to Buiten, and it was only a matter of time before our scoring account was opened, the lads went on from here and won convincing 3-0, goals from Ben, Nick B & AJ. This crowned us Buiten tournament Champions and created Lyne FC’s 1st ever double in Europe. Great thanks must go to Declan Slattery, for organising the tournament, Richard Ayres & Richard Johnson for being fantastic coaches, the parents for paying for it and brilliant bunch of lads that truly deserve it. Also, last but not least we must thanks our hosts at SV Huizen and Buiten for such fantastic hospitality and kindness in the duration of our stay in Holland.

THE ELITE TEAM ARE LOOKING FOR NEW PLAYERS FOR NEXT SEASON, IF INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT : Nigel 01932-568556
