Important Information
England  V  Germany @ Lyne F.C 2010
June 26, 2010 was the second time in three years that we were able to stage an International Football friendly with our German and English friends and family. As a quick introduction, my wife Ann and I (Uli) have lived in Lyne for 6 years where our sons Ben and James (6 and 4, respectively) where born and where they love to play football on the Green. I am from Germany and Ann despite her new surname (Kleinsteuber! ) is English. Our friends and family last met at our Five year Anniversary party where we livened things up by staging an "international football match".

The occasion this time was a charity event for the Lovissociety which supports families with terminally ill children. The charity was set up by my Cousin in Canada who last year sadly lost her young daughter Lovis to a rare discease.

In addition to the charitable cause we were also hoping to associate ourselves somehow with the real worldcup hoping for an England v. Germany match in South Africa that Saturday evening to spice up the party we were hosting in Chertsey. In the end the REAL match did take place as you know, but a day later.
Now to our game on Lyne Green. The German team this time around was filled with hopeful young talent from my family in Koblenz with no less than 3 players in the starting 11 under 20 years promising to put the considerably older English team under pressure. This did not last for long as the English quickly created chances and were up 3:0 after 20 minutes due to series of great moves and defending errors (the irony of it all). On the other side my German team were unable to connect properly on a number of occasions and despite an overall balanced game England took the 3:0 lead into half time. The second half started with a similarly balanced overall game but with England applying more pressure on our defenders and managing to retain and then build the lead following a brief German comeback. Whilst we were able to create good chances it was the English that proved deadly with cunning penalty box movement and precision shooting. The full time result of 7:2 reflected an ice cold counter attacking performance that was not to be expected by a team of old footballing talent, mixed up with local cricketers and rugby players.
Germany did redeem themselves with a strong penalty performance - we always finish the game with an obligatory penalty shoot out. It was 9:7 after penalties with the Germans knocking in each ball with precision and effectiveness and England doing what it always does at this stage...Despite the late surge the full results of 9:7 was an  unexpected Goal festival and some claim it was even worth watching. A re-match is not yet planned but rumours have it that our German friends might stage a similar show in 2012 during the European finals. So regardless of what happens with the real teams there may well be an England team (from Lyne) fighting it out on the continent.
The game was great fun and all participants (organisers included) had a fantastic day which managed to generate a tidy sum for our charity. Many thanks to Nigel, Ian et al for all their help in preparing the ground and lending us a hand. Good luck to all LYNE FC teams for next season.
BEST WISHES Uli, Ann, Ben and James Kleinsteuber
Many thanks to this years U12's for making this happen and Pat and Richard for marking out!!
Cheers

Lyne Elite go double Dutch in Holland

Lyne FC go double Dutch in Holland  The Lyne FC Elite team, U15’s, travelled to the outskirts of Amsterdam, to take part in two football tournaments over the Easter period, The 1st being on Saturday, which was hosted by S.V. Huizen. The format of this tournament was a straight league basis with the top team after all the matches being crowned the winners.

The Elite teams opening game was against the hosts, SV Huizen.

team_huizen_1_625x480.jpg The Elite teams didn’t settle well in this match but still dominated the play, but this was of no surprise as Lyne are notorious as starting slow in tournament football and today was of no exception. The final score in the opening match ended a 0-0 draw and the Elite need to buck their ideas up if they wanted to progress in this tournament. The 2nd match was against Victoria. After receiving  what you could call ‘ a strong team talk’ from the manager, the team responded  in typical Elite fashion, returning a 7-0 win and goals from Ollie B, AJ, x2 Tom Short, Ben  and x2 from Nick B. Our third encounter of the day  was Baarn, and once again the Elite’s were on top form, coming out victorious 4-0, goals from Tom Short, Ish and x2 Ben. Last game of the day, and a must win for the Elite team, if they wished to be crowned Champions of Huizen, against NVC. The boys were very positive but no one could have predicated this one. With the Elite winning 10-0, and goal from Jack, Ben x2, Ish, Cal, Ollie Q, AJ, Nick x2 and Ollie B. This clenched the Huizen tournament for the Elite team and the presentation being done on the main pitch of the 1st team.  This proved to be a fantastic day for the whole team and a booster for all that travelled to Holland, after a very slow start we could not have asked for a stronger finish, which was get preparation for the Sunday tournament at Buiten. The boys were up very early for this one, as Buiten was an ‘all day’ tournament, in the same format as Huizen. League winners take all. True to fashion, Lyne Elite went out against the host team Buiten in the 1st match and could only manage a 0-0 draw (No Surprise there then). Our 2nd opponents was AFC Quick 1890, Lyne found their found once again, coming out solid winners 3-0 and goals from Ish, Ben & Nick B. Our game was against Ommoord from Rotherdam. This was going to prove one of our toughest encounters, with Ommoord being a very physical and very aggressive (you know what sort of team!). The lads kept great discipline and took them apart coming out triumphant 2-0, after the full time whistle, with Nick B scoring twice. Our second from last encounter, was SV Weesp. A young outfit, but also fairly competitive. Lyne knew we had to put in a ‘big’ performance against these lads as goal difference   would play a part in our final league position. The Elite team did not disappoint winning the game 8-0 with goals from Ben, Edge, Tom S, Ollie B x2, AJ x3. Despite trying to claim the crown in our 4th match, it wasn’t to be, as the host team, Buiten, were neck and neck with us and only a win against their 2nd team would do, in the last match. Lyne started the brighter, taking the game to Buiten, and it was only a matter of time before our scoring account was opened, the lads went on from here and won convincing 3-0, goals from Ben, Nick B & AJ. This crowned us Buiten tournament Champions and created Lyne FC’s 1st ever double in Europe. Great thanks must go to Declan Slattery, for organising the tournament, Richard Ayres & Richard Johnson for being fantastic coaches, the parents for paying for it and brilliant bunch of lads that truly deserve it. Also, last but not least we must thanks our hosts at SV Huizen and Buiten for such fantastic hospitality and kindness in the duration of our stay in Holland.

THE ELITE TEAM ARE LOOKING FOR NEW PLAYERS FOR NEXT SEASON, IF INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT : Nigel 01932-568556

Under 11's follow in Elite squads footsteps!! (scroll down to read more)

Under 15’s

2009/2010 and what is expected and what’s planned for the older age groups and how will this benefit the younger age groups?

lyne f.c badge.png New Years resolution for Elite team. Perform to the highest level in training, warm-up and matches.Continue our run in the County Cup.Secure our place in the Premier League for next season.Make the final of the Senior Plate Competition. New Years resolution for Platinum team Perform to the highest level in training, warm-up and matches.Secure our place in the 1st Division for next season.Make the final of the Senior Plate Competition. Both teams Set a good example for all of the younger age groups to be proud of and aspire to!!! New Years warning Boys of your age should not expect something for nothing, so don’t think your place in the Elite or Platinum team is secure if you do not prepare and perform in every session. We seem to have a small minority of players that lack or have temporarily lost the ability  to work hard to achieve, please regain this will before the next training session !!  Plans for 2009  The Elite team and Platinum team  will be merged to create one squad of 25-30 boys (This will happen directly after the season ends)THIS IS OPEN TO NEW PLAYERS SIGNING FOR LYNE F.C FOR THE SEASON 2009/2010 This squad will be coached by the existing Elite and Platinum management team with the addition of a full time goalkeeper coach, Ian Barrado,  Richard Ayres and guest coaches invited in to take various sessions. In short, 7 minimum quantified football coaches, plus guest coaches for one squad.I also intend to get full sports physiotherapy backup which will be available to all squad players. The intension in preparation for going into Youth football in 2010/2011 is to have (Under 16’s)
  1. A premiership team in the East Berks Youth League (Saturday mornings)
  2. A premiership team in the Surrey Primary League (Sunday mornings)
  3. A premier team in the West Surrey Youth League (Sunday mornings)
This way the boys will have the opportunity to play on a Saturday as well as a Sunday if they so wish.Training for next season will be two sessions a week(Players that play Saturday and Sunday will only be asked to train the once) A major goal is to find a senior ground to play our football on for the future, this is in progress at the present time and you will be updated in the near future. Plans for 2010 Not to enter any teams at under 17’s, but accelerate a year and go straight into Youth level football. This level is under 18’s, and good preparation for going to senior levels the year after (2011)The difference between Lyne F.C and other Club progressing to senior level is that we are creating a youth and senior team and structure from scratch and not just filtering the odd one or two lads that are potentially good enough into a already established senior set up, thus Lyne F.C will give far more boys the opportunity to play senior football.         Tours and Tournaments We are going to enter a team in every small sided Tournament (Every weekend)that is available to us in the Summer months. (Only one team per Tournament and a player rotation system will take place) In June we are planning to go to France to enter a large small sided Tournament.(This will be done on the cheap and possibly involve camping out there) This may be 3 x teams Early July we will be going to Wythall in Birmingham to contend the Challenge Trophy. At the end of July we are planning to go to the Umbro International Tournament in Manchester, this year we intend to come back with some form of silverware after being so close in 2008.(This will be open to all boys that are registered to Lyne F.C and are part of the new structure and squad) HOW DOES ALL OF THIS EFFECT MY BOY  PLAYING AT A YOUNGER AGE GROUP??? A :This structure is being put in place to secure football for the younger age groups to progress into and aspire to. Finally we are looking for more parents to get involved and make these ideas reality for the future!! Any questions or enquires please contact Nigel on: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Exciting Plans for Under 11's for 2009 / 2010:

The under 11's age group has grown to 30 players during this current season.

In order to provide football for all and to be part of the club’s exciting plans for next season, it is intended to run 3 teams next season across the age group.

This will enable the age group to progress towards the club’s aims to enable its players to play at the highest possible level of senior football through a long-term development plan.

This process will begin by copying the current under 15’s Elite squad structure outlined for next season.

Therefore the 3 teams will compete in 2009 /2010 as follows:

A team in the East Berkshire Youth League (Saturday mornings) A team in the Surrey Primary League (Sunday mornings) A team in the West Surrey Youth League (Sunday mornings)

To achieve this the current under 11’s age group teams will be combined to create one squad of 30+ players. (This will happen directly after the season

ends) THIS IS OPEN TO NEW PLAYERS SIGNING FOR LYNE F.C FOR THE SEASON 2009/2010.

The squad will continue to be coached by the current under 11's management and coaching team of Richard Ayres, Phil Howlett, Kevin Sharples and Ian Barrado, and guest coaches invited in to take various sessions.

This way the boys will have the opportunity to play on a Saturday as well as a Sunday if they so wish.

More Tournaments!

After a successful tournament season last summer, we will enter even more small sided Tournaments (most weekends), which are available to us in the Summer months. (Generally one team per Tournament and a player rotation system will take place).

This will include the Lyne F.C. fete day tournament, and the annual Lyne vs Wythall Challenge Trophy.

This will be open to all boys that are registered to Lyne F.C for next season (and are part of the new structure and squad).

HOW DOES ALL OF THIS EFFECT MY BOY PLAYING AT A YOUNGER AGE GROUP???

A: This structure is being put in place to secure football for the younger age groups to progress into and aspire to, and also gives more opportunities to play football.

Finally we are looking for more parents to get involved and make these ideas a reality for the future!! Any questions or enquires please contact Nigel
